Bernhard P. Danker, 91 of Sun City, Huntley, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Monday morning, February 17, 2014 following a lengthy illness.
He was born on June 23, 1922 in Germany, the son of Hugo P. and Olga (Johnk) Danker. He was united in marriage to Erika E. Blumenscheit on October 22, 1949. Bernhard worked as a machinist most of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Erika of Huntley, sons, Dirk (Susan) Danker of Oak Park, Illinois and Harald (Anna) Danker of Cocoa Beach, Florida, his grandchildren, Sara Danker & Miles and Neil Danker and his great-grandson, Benjamin. He was preceded in death by his sister, Anna, his brother, Hermann and his step-brother, Kurt.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014 with visitation after 10:00 a.m. at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. The Reverend Joanne Fitzgerald will officiate.

It's so hard for all of us to lose a family member. Bernie has been a part of my family since I met Marshall and not seeing him at the holidays every year will not seem right. He will be missed.
