Obituary

William “Bill” J. Carpenter, 69 of Algonquin passed away at his home on Monday morning, March 31, 2014, following a short illness.

He was born November 24, 1944 in Chicago, the son of Clyde and Helen (Jurkowski) Carpenter. He grew up between Wisconsin and Chicago and was united in marriage to Lora G. Pellman on July 26, 1965 in Chicago. He worked as a mechanic for U-Haul for many years. He enjoyed racing stock cars, loved his children and grandchildren, camping, NASCAR and the casino.

He is survived by his wife, Lora of Algonquin, his sons, Steven (Cheryl) Carpenter of Algonquin, David (Maureen) Carpenter of Villa Park, his grandchildren, Christopher, Eric, Kathleen, Kelly, Bradley & Sean, his sisters, Lorrie Kingery of Wickenburg, Arizona, Sally Pacini of Georgetown, Illinois, his brother, Frederick (Colleen) Carpenter of Wickenburg, Arizona and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3rd and the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 4th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
