Joseph Andrew Adams, born in Chicago on December 30, 1948 died on June 8 surrounded by his family. Joe served in the United states marine corps and fought in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. After leaving the service, he studied carpentry and entered into the Carpenters’ Union in 1972 where Joe served as Recording Secretary. He worked as General superintendent, Project Manager or Quality Control Manager on a number of large commercial buildings. Joe’s passion was taking a project from paper to the finished product. He took great pride in his work.
Joe also served as Trustee for Rutland Township and taught carpentry programs at Elgin Community College. he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Joe loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his wife, Susan, four children: Christine, Denise, Shaun and Amanda and four grandchildren: Bailey, 12, Sophia, 11, Joey, 8 and Olivia 4 and his sister, Susan DiBattista. He is preceeded in death by his parents, Emil and Catherine and his brothers Edward and Michael.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3:00 to 7:00pm at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be 1:30pm Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church, where there will be a visitation at Church on Thursday from 12:30-1:30. Burial will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Disabled American Veterans Association.
