Obituary

Lois A. Bowes, 95 of St. Charles, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 10, 2014 at the Rosewood Care Center where she had been a resident the past twelve years.

She was born November 26, 1918 in Chicago, the daughter of John and Ella (Trippense) Landers. She worked as a telephone operator for a time but spent most of her time caring for her family which was precious work to her. She will be remembered as a dear friend, a strong woman, a nice person and very loyal.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Eckert of Huntley, her daughter-in-law, Yelana Bowes of Tinley Park, her grandchildren, Joseph Robert Eckert, Daniel John Eckert, Brittany & Robert Martin Bowes, her great-grandchildren, Joseph Ryan Eckert, Jeffrey Adam Eckert, Alyvia & Elana and RJ Bowes. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and son, Robert.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, 10805 E. Main Street, Huntley. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Fairmont Cemetery in Willow Springs.
