Christopher O. Gramer, 49 of Lake In The Hills, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2014 from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.
He was born April 16, 1965 in Elmhurst, Illinois the son of Otto and Judith (Van Wakeman) Gramer. He was a graduate of High School in Elmhurst. Christopher married Lorri A. Grauman on July 4, 1992. He worked as a millwright for CFM – Continental Field Machining / TESCO & Machinist Local 1693. “Love my family & motorcycles. Enjoy everyday, tomorrow might cost more. Sometimes it’s nice just to cruise around or take a different path just to see something new and maybe a little exciting.”
Christopher is survived by his wife, Lorri A. Gramer of Lake In The Hills, his children, Robert (Sarah) Grauman of Marengo, Brandon Gramer and Kiersten Gramer, both of Lake In The Hills, his mother, Judith V. Gramer of Chicago, his sisters, Deborah (Jimmie) Gramer-Hamp of Chicago, his sister's-in-law, Sherri (John Wolf) Grauman of Wonder Lake, Karri Grauman of Palatine, his father-in-law, Roger Grauman, numerous nieces and nephews and many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Otto, grandparents and mother-in-law, Judith Grauman.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 21st at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christopher O. Gramer Memorial Fund c/o Castle Bank, 2100 Algonquin Road, Lake In The Hills, 60156.

We did not know Chris, but have been praying for him, his family and friends. My husband was one of the witnesses of the accident that killed Chris, which affected him greatly. We are so, so sorry for your loss, a loss that just should not have happened. We wish you all peace. An Algonquin family...

Its been a blessing to have both Brandon and Kiersten as students in our school community. In fact, Kiersten just received the Literature Award at the WCS 8th Grade Recognition.
