Loren J. Thorstenson, 64 of Algonquin died peacefully, July 13, 2014 at his home with his family by his side.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30am at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8pm at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society or Charity of one’s choice.
Loren was born November 8, 1949 the son of Clarence and Evelyn Thorstenson. He graduated in 1971 from Milliken University. On October 21, 1972 he married Susanne Chavich. Throughout his career he and his brother, Glenn owned and operated the family business, Howard L. White and Associates. He was an avid golfer, and Chicago Bear’s fan. He and his long time friend organized an annual golf outing for over 40 years. One of Loren’s greatest joy was spending time with family and friends at their Eagle Ridge home. Loren will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Sue, his sons, Michael (Traci), Craig (Linda), Eric (Jennifer) and Daniel (Ana). His nine grandchildren, Hailey, Joshua, Emma, Chase, Evan, Leah, Scarlett, Lucas and Cole, by his brother, Glenn (Barbara), by his sister-in-law, Susan and also by many nieces, nephews, sisters and brother –in-laws.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Steven.
