Kenneth B. Bower, 84 of Pingree Gove, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Wednesday evening, July 23, 2014, following a lengthy illness.
He was born February 9, 1930 in New York, New York the son of Benjamin and Katherine (Sullivan) Bower. He grew up in New York City and then played baseball in the Minor Leagues for The Boston Red Sox. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Alice Pagano on October 14, 1960. Kenneth worked in sales in the textile industry most of his working career. Family, his wife, children and grandchildren were of the utmost importance to him. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a past Grand Knight, enjoyed singing and a few rounds of golf.
He is survived by his wife, Alice of Pingree Grove, his sons, James (Pamela) Bower of Wichita, Kansas, Wayne (Bethany) Bower of Algonquin, his grandchildren, Tynisha, Kenneth, Tiffany, Jeremy & Joey, his great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Anthony, Joshua, Quinton, J.J., Lacy & Michael.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 27th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

My Dear Alice and family, I just want you to know that I feel your heartache as mine and I dont think it ever goes await , it just becomes ease to bear.
