George Mascenic, Sr., 84 of Huntley and formerly of Des Plaines, died peacefully August 15, 2014
Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8pm at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00am Tuesday at St. Mary Church -10307 Dundee Road, with visitation one hour prior at the Church. Inurnment will be private at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to American Heart Association or Masses may be offered.
George was born July 21, 1930 in Somerset County, PA. He served in the United States Army during the Korean war. On may 31, 1958 he married Marie DeMeo. He worked as an electrician for IBEW Local 134 until his retirement. He was very involved with Boy Scouts of America and always loved to be in the sun and in the pool. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Marie, his children, George Mascenic, Jr., Jeanne Leyden (fiancé Mark), David (Karen) Mascenic, his grandchildren, Paige and Jack and by his sister, Margaret (Grant) Rich.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Theodore, sisters, Dorothy and Catherine.
