Obituary

Anthony L. Ozzauto, 78 of Huntley, died peacefully, August 26, 2014.
Visitation will be on Friday from 3:00 to 9:00pm at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday at St. Mary Church-10307 Dundee Road. There will be a visitation at Church from 9:00am until 10:00am. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Mary Church or a charity of one’s choice.
Anthony was born January 28, 1936 in Chicago, the son of Joseph and Mary Ozzauto. He served in the United States Army. On January 17, 1959 he married Annette D’Amato. He started his career at Scala Packing Co., and later cofounded the original Mr. Beef - “ the greatest sandwich in the world!” and after selling the restaurant he moved into sales for Panos foods and most recently worked as the Chef of Heritage Woods of Huntley. He was past president of the Sun City Italian Club, he enjoyed horse racing, casinos, golf, bowling, gardening and cooking. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Annette, his children, Tony (Lynda) Ozzauto, Lisa (Tim) Florer, Laura (Carl) Erickson, Joe (Janet) Ozzauto, Deena (Tom) Zak, by his grandchildren, Nicole, Dominick, Nicholas, Anthony, Joey, Jimmy, Olivia and Jessie. He is survived by his sisters, Joan (Carl) Bonavolanto, Lucille Raffin (Gerry), and by his sister-in-law, Marilyn (Jack) DeVito and by many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.

So sorry to hear of Chukies passing. Although cousins should be closer, the miles made it difficult. My dad always tells me great stories about all his cousins growing up. Pam and I along with Gail, Michael and Diane are in Altavilla for the fiest. Will say a prey and light a candle at the week-end church service for him. RIP
