Charles H. Shoudt, 76 of Long Grove, Illinois, formerly of Riegelsville, PA. passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 following a lengthy illness.
Charles was born December 28, 1934 in Easton, Pennsylvania the son of Charles N. and Amy (Monninghoff) Shoudt.? He graduated from Easton High School in 1952.? On January 22, 1955, he was united in marriage to Hazel V. Largent.? The couple made their home in Pennsylvania for many years and Charles worked for the Whippany Paper Board Mill until 1974, when he traveled to various mills in Ohio, New York, New Jersey, Arizona and Tennessee.? In 1993 the couple moved to the Chicago area to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren.? Charles raced stock cars, enjoyed wood working, telling stories, loved to sing, was a Chicago Cubs fan and an avid NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his children, JoAnn Peterson of Huntley, Illinois, Michael (Lee) Shoudt of Taylor, Arizona, Kevin (Kathy) Shoudt of Easton, Pennsylvania and Charles Shoudt, Jr. of Ohio, his grandchildren, Tracy & Kristen May, Patrick & Jonathan Peterson, Brian, Robert (Bobby), Brittany, Chuck & Sarah Shoudt, his great-grandchildren, Kierra, Alexis, Hayden & Karson, his siblings, Mary Scott of Riegelsville, Pennsylvania, Richard (Diane) Shoudt of Santa Fe, New Mexico, William (Eileen) & Larry (Patsy) Shoudt all of Pennsylvania and Linda Higgins of Sanford, North Carolina.? He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel and his son, Gary.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 18th from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Robert W. Snyder Funeral Home in Riegelsville, Pennsylvania.? A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.?? with visitation after 10:00 a.m. at church.? Burial will be in St. John The Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Haycock Township.? The DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service is in charge of the local arrangements.
