Dear Family, Dear Marilyn: I am sorry for your loss. I began reading the obituaries on Monday, just to extend the time before getting to the day's tasks. It was a sad surprise to see Charles's name. He was Chuckie to us, my brother Doug & I, so many years ago. You on Artesan St., we on Campbell Ave. On seeing the notice my mind was full of many good memories of our friendship, Marilyn and that of Chuckie and Doug. How they didn't want us tagging after them--but we often did anyway, our interest in their guy friends. Never did resolve the 'who is better' Cubs or Sox! And the good times at OTSC. and Mark Twain Camp. I didn't really consider it then but realize now how hard our mom's worked to make a decent , safe life for Chuck & Marilyn, and Doug & Fran in that even then rough neighborhood. Chuck was a good grammar school friend. God bless you all during these days of missing and memory. May your love for each other keep you close and give you strength. Sincerely, Frances Forgue Carroll
