Kathleen Lyle, 74 of Sun City, Huntley, passed away on Tuesday evening, December 16, 2014 in Arlington Heights following a short illness.
She was born February 29, 1940 in Chicago, the daughter of Edward and Catherine (Grundhoefer) Sharkey. She grew up on the south side of Chicago and graduated from Providence High School and later Chicago Teachers College. She was united in marriage to John P. Lyle Sr., on August 20, 1960. The couple made their home in McKinley Park, Schaumburg and later Wauconda. They retired to Huntley in 2003. Kay made a career as a homemaker, teacher, real estate agent and small business owner over the years. She liked to shop, enjoyed crafts and anything Disney. Mostly she enjoyed time with her family and children.
She is survived by her children, John Lyle Jr., Robert Lyle and Cheryl Lyle, her brothers, Thomas (Candace) Sharkey, Patrick (Mary Lou) Sharkey and Robert (Phoebe) Sharkey and many nieces and nephews.
Kathleen’s family will host a memorial in the coming months. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
