Obituary

Harry W. Trestrail, 90, died Thursday, December 29, 2011 at home in Sun City, Huntley, Illinois, after a long illness.
He was born January 11, 1921, to Lloyd and Frieda (Gratz) Trestrail on a farm near Shullsburg, Wisconsin. He attended the National College of Chiropractic in Chicago and earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1942. He practiced in Chicago from 1948 until 1986, first on Oak Park Avenue on the Northwest Side of the city and later on Touhy Avenue in Edison Park. He was president of the Chicago Chiropractic Society from 1965 to 1967 and served as president of the alumni association of the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard for several yearsand as a member of the college board of trustees from 1976 to 1985.
He was a member of the Edison/Norwood/O'Hare Kiwanis Club for many years. He was president of the congregation of Messiah Lutheran Church in Park Ridge and a founding member of Light of Christ Lutheran Church in Algonquin.
He is survived by his wife, Sue (Guion), of 63 years; his children Karen (Robert) Black of Park Ridge, Joanne Trestrail of Chicago, James (Susan) Trestrail of Winfield, and Terri (Richard) Hogan of Hoffman Estates; grandchildren Jeffrey (Kristen) Clark of Arlington Heights, Todd Trestrail of Centreville, Virginia, Hollin Trestrail of Roselle, Heather Hogan and Mark Hogan of Hoffman Estates; great-grandchildren Brianna Henderson and Tyler Clark; sister Eileen (Arthur) Wendt of Stoughton, Wisconsin; a niece and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Thelma (Joe) Hale of Elmhurst.
The family would like to thank Yvonne Pickett, Karen Troka, and other staff members of Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 2, at Light of Christ Lutheran Church, 100 Hanson Road, Algonquin. Burial will be in Huntley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois or Light of Christ Lutheran Church.

Dearest Susan, My heart is aching for you It just wont be the same in the yard this year, but we will have several toasts to Harry Please accept my deepest synpathies to you and your children and know that you all are in my prayers. Also, I have forwarded Harrys obit to Clearwater and Faye will let them know. Lastly, I am so very sorry I wont be able to attend on Monday as I will be coming home from Frankfurt.
