Obituary

Nicholas “Nick” Sapone, 90 of Huntley died peacefully, December 19, 2014
A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am on Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-8pm at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road Huntley. Burial will be at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
Nick was born January 30, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois the son of John and Florence. He married Linda Lichtenberger on June 25, 1967. He served in the United States Army. He worked at Motorola as Supervisor of Inventory Control.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, his daughters, Debra Hoya, Laura (Porfirio) Estrada, he is survived by his grandchildren, Patrick, Nicholas, Ashley and Matthew and by his brothers, Joseph and Michael Sapone and by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and by his sisters, Francis Gill and Angela Sapone.

Rich and I are remembering Nick fondly and thinking of all our double dates. We always had such a wonderful time with both Nick and Linda, loved to watch them dance. Our love to Debbie, Laurie and Porf and their families. Our hearts are full of reminisce's and memories.

I agree with your cousin. Would it be OK if a reavtile or close family friend texted, e-mailed, Facebook messaged, etc., their condolences instead of bothering to show up at the funeral or wake? I love the internet and practically live in the cloud but Facebook and Twitter are only destined to make us as a people more divided and separate. Instant communication, while nice, will never replace that feeling you get from hearing the voice of someone who cares for you, or knowing that you were more important to them than a 5-10 second message. There is more to life than simply increasing it's speed. Ghandi
