Obituary

William E. “Bill” Landon, 78 of Huntley, born into eternity Wednesday, December 24, 2014 with his beloved family by his side. Loving husband of Alice and devoted father to Patricia (Keith) Mullins, Peggy Landon, Eileen (John) Pierre and Alison Landon, dear brother of Andrew Landon and cherished grandfather to Chelsea Elizabeth, James and Joseph, and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bill was born March 18, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of William H. and Margaret M (Neuschler) Landon. He graduated from Bishop-Loughlin High School in Brooklyn and the University of Notre Dame in 1958. He was united in marriage to Alice MacKrell on April 23, 1960 in Amityville, New York. In 1969, they moved to Schaumburg, IL where they raised their family. Bill retired in 2000 after 30 years as a sales executive in the audio visual industry, primarily with Bell & Howell. He was a devoted Notre Dame Football fan and also enjoyed golfing, traveling, and attending many activities with their Huntley, Sun City friends. Treasured times were spent with Alice, his brother, 4 daughters and 3 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any cancer research foundation.

Filled with so many good memories, especially tailgating at Notre Dame games and parties together. I'm sure Nick and Bill are rehashing a lot of games they haven't shared in a few years. May Bill rest in peace and Alice and family find peace also. Prayers and hugs to each of you.
