Carol A. Toede, 69 of Sun City, Huntley, passed away at her home on Saturday morning, January 24, 2015 at her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born February 13, 1945 in Chicago, the daughter of John and Bernice (Reynoldson) Malik. She grew up in Elmwood Park and graduated from Elmwood Park High School and later attended the Chicago Art Institute. She was united in marriage to Herbert F. Toede on April 19, 1969 in Chicago. The couple made their home in Schaumburg where they raised their family and Carol owned and operated Creative Designs. They moved to Huntley in 2001. She especially enjoyed drawing, painting and expressing herself artistically. Previously she and her husband had raised and shown German Shephards.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert of Huntley, her daughter, Deborah (Ronald) Habernegg of Chicago, her son, Brock (Kimberly) Toede of Ypsilanti, Michigan, her grandchildren, Alexander, Michaela, Stone & Strom, her mother, Bernice Malik of Hoffman Estates, and her brothers, Terrance (Cathy) Malik of Sanibel, Florida and Thomas Malik and his partner, Dave Bartnick of Schaumburg. She was preceded in death by her father, John and her sister, Darlene.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Service of Remembrance on Tuesday, January 27th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cure PSP & CBD, 30 E. Padonia Road, Ste #201, Timonium, Maryland 21093.
