Darlene F. Larson, 64 of Huntley, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
She was born March 4, 1951 in Chicago, the daughter of Walter and Betty (Schultz) Podgorny. She grew up in Chicago and later raised her family there and in Hoffman Estates. She had worked for many years at HiHo Restaurant and later Sure Staff. On January 13, 1997 she was united in marriage to William Larson. The couple moved to Huntley on 2007. Darlene especially enjoyed her family and her grandchildren, she liked to travel, enjoyed the beach, a cruise and gardening.
She is survived by her children, Steven (Bonnie) Novak of Huntley, Kim Novak of Schaumburg & Jackie (Scott) Moskal of Lake In The Hills, her stepchildren, William (Maureen) Larson of Norridge, Deanna Larson of Nashville, Christine Larson, Christopher (Tracy) Larson of Chicago & Jamie (Audry) Larson of Glenview, her grandchildren, Stevie, Kaine, Tyler, Brooklyn, Sisi, Jennifer, Billy, Patrick, Aiden, Jack & Charlie and her sister, Charlene Magnus of Lake In The Hills. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill, her sister, Marlene and her brother, Ron.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10703 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
