Lynda Brewer, 73, of Huntley and beloved wife of Allan Brewer for the past 54 years, died peacefully in her sleep on March 24, 2015 after an extended illness. Per her wishes, visitation and services will be for immediate family.
Lynda was born in Springfield, Illinois the daughter of the late Albert Pierard and Leah Pierard (Hill). She was the loving mother to three sons, Mark (Linda), of Parma, OH; Kevin (Amy) of Decatur, Illinois and Colin (Geri) of River Grove, IL. In total, she had 6 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. Lynda had two sisters, the late Eileen Favero (Rudy) and the late Joyce Pierard. She has many nieces and nephews predominantly residing in the Springfield area. Lynda moved from Springfield to Chicago in 1960 so that Allan could attend a senior college. While a member of St. Viators’ parish in Chicago, she worked developing a Montessori program to teach religious beliefs to preschoolers. For many years, she taught Round Dancing and choreographed several popular dances. For a period of time, Lynda bred and showed prized Persian cats and kittens. In 1988, a kitten of her breeding was judged the Best of the Year. Betty White presented Lynda with the Morris Animal Foundation Award. Approximately 10 years ago, Lynda and Al had their retirement home built in Sun City Huntley and she enjoyed many of the amenities until her illness.
