Dr. David Petty, 93 of Huntley died peacefully April 14, 2015 after battling
a rare form of lymphoma.
He donated his body to science and no services are planned. The family will
privately celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed
to Heifer International.
David was born September 19, 1921 the son of DeWitt and Beatrice Petty. He
served in the United States Navy during WW II and the Korean Conflict. He
was a Naval Commander and served as a surgeon and physician at Great Lakes
Naval Base. He Married Yvonne Del Magro on July 11, 1959.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne, his children, Miriam (Steve) Dewhurst,
David (Susan) Petty, Carol Petty-Zasler, Mark (Wendy) Petty, Gail (Walter)
Boyle, and Guy (Chrissy) Petty. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren
and 2 great grandchildren and by his brother, John (Xandra) Petty and
sister, Miriam (Bob) Murray. He is preceded in death by his sister Gayle.
