Sam Speciale, 86, of Crystal Lake and formerly of Lombard died peacefully, July 4, 2015 at Journeycare Hospice with his family by his side.
Sam was born October 19, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois the son of John and Katie Speciale. He served in the United States Army until his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary Church and of the Knights of Columbus and of St. Mary Sambuca Society of Chicago. Sam loved eagles and most importantly loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Catherine (Timothy) McDermott of Gilbert, Arizona, Edward (Bonnie) Speciale of Spring Hill, Florida, Charlene (Thomas) Dewart of Crystal Lake, Illinois, his grandchildren, Sam, Shawn, Stacie, Tina, Anthony, Timothy, Aimee, Colleen, Brenda, Ashley, Thomas Jr., & DeJuan, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his sister, Angela (Don) Detrick. He is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte, his daughter, Elizabeth, son, Martin, sister, Mary and brothers, John, Martin and Frank.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, July 10 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Hillside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the

We will miss our good friends Charlotte & now Sam Speciale. Our sympathy and love to the Speciale family. We are in Florida due to Bob's operation and so sorry we couln't be at the Services. Our prayers for all.
