JoAnn Henley, 71 of Algonquin, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin following a lengthy illness.
She was born August 1, 1944 in Chicago, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Baker) Riley and graduated from St. Stanislaus High School in 1962. She was united in marriage to Edward G. Henley on September 18, 1965. The couple made their home in Chicago and then Des Plaines where she raised her family. The couple later moved to Mt. Prospect and she worked in sales for Schuham Builders. In 2001 they moved to Algonquin. JoAnn loved her family and the time she spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of almost 50 years, Edward of Algonquin, her daughters, Deborah (Ronald) Burke of Crystal Lake, Patricia Henley and her fiancé, Jim Bouquet of Mt. Prospect, her son, Michael (Nicole) Henley of Wauconda, her grandchildren, Emily, Ellyn, Ian, Audrey, Keegan & Kaden, her sisters, Mary Ellen (Norman) Krull of Elmhurst, Carole Krist of Houston, Texas and her brother, Thomas Riley of Chicago. She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant daughter, Christine.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, August 14th from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass all at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

There are no words. However, thank God for memories. Anyone who knew JoAnn even for a short time, has a few Im sure. Those who were privileged to have her as a friend can recall countless wonderful stories and memories that will last a lifetime. Kathy, the boys and I are blessed to have had you in our life. No one in the world could call you HONEY like Joann. Get ready heaven your about to receive one of the best woman on the planet earth.
