Dorothy Pearl Holmes DeJulio, 91 of Huntley died peacefully August 12, 2015 at Sherman West Court.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm with a service at 7pm all at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Second Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Kreidler Funeral Home- 314 N. 10th Street, McAllen, TX and Graveside services will be Thursday, August 20, 2015, 1:30pm at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen Texas.
Dorothy was born June 16, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois and graduated from Forman High School in 1942. On June 22, 1946 she married Alfred John (Fred) DeJulio The family moved to McAllen, Texas in 1952 and lived there for over 50 years. While taking care of three children, Dorothy managed to do volunteer work as president of the local chapter of the McAllen Does Club ( in conjunction with the McAllen Elks Club), and president of the WIBC Woman’s Bowling Association. Later in life she went into restaurant management and eventually owned her own restaurant in McAllen called the Victorian. Due to poor health, Dorothy returned to the Chicago area to be with her family. She resided at Sherman West Court in Elgin, IL until the time of her death.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Patricia Lynn LaPota- Krebs and Jeri Kay DeJulio. By her granddaughter, Jennifer LaPota- Rolnicki of Lake in the Hills, IL., and by her great grand children, Joshua and Jamie Rolnicki. She was loved by all and will be missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred DeJulio and son, Frederick John “Rick” DeJulio
