Obituary

John "Jack" Bolger, 79 of Gilberts, died peacefully on September 10, 2015.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 15th at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 14th from 4-8 pm at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home -10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Burial at Arlington Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial to St. Mary Catholic Church- Huntley.

John was born February 5, 1936 in Chicago to Joseph and Katherine Bolger. He served in the United States Army Reserves and graduated from DePaul University in 1968. Jack coached the Portage Park Swim Team from 1959 to 1975 before he became the head coach of the Northwestern University Men's swim team. He remained in that position until 1985 when he accepted a position as coach at Palatine High School. Jack married Jeanne (Nee.Trapp) Fuller in 1997. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Fuller-Bolger, his former spouse Erika Johnston, his children Kerry Bolger, Kevin (Jennifer) Bolger, Colleen (Jeff) Middendorf, Fred (Mary) Bolger, and by Jeanne's children, John (Melissa) Fuller and Michael (Ursula) Fuller and by his 7 grandchildren 6 step grandchildren 2 step great grandchildren and by many nieces and nephews and brother-in-law, Ray Hemzacek. He is preceded in death by his sister, Joan

Jack was my swim coach at Palatine High School. I have many fond memories of not only his expertise in swimming but also his amazing grace and warmth. He worked hard with us every day to make us better. He will be sadly missed.

My condolences to Jacks family. While I was a diver for Palatine High School so Jack was not my direct coach but he was always there willing to help and lend some advice on diver relays. He will be sadly missed. My thoughts and prayers to all his family and friends.
