Dolores “Dee” Dassie, 84 of Huntley, passed away Thursday evening, November 12, 2015 at Sherman West Court in Elgin.
She was born April 29, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of William and Mary (Parrilli) Iacullo. Dee was raised and educated on Chicago’s south side. She was united in marriage to George A. Dassie on November 18, 1951. The couple made their home in Morton Grove and she worked as a hairdresser for many years. In 2007 the couple moved to Huntley. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed baking, art, traveling, square dancing and playing Scrabble with her children.
She is survived by her adoring children, Marilyn Chernack and Debbie (Tim) Bates, Bob (Debra) Dassie, her grandchildren, Sarah & John Bates, her sister’s, Nettie Esposito, Pat (Ron) Ziccarelli, Rose (Chas)Pintozzi and Gina Schintgen, her brothers, Anthony (Lola) Iacullo, Joe (Maureen) Iacullo and George (Lois) Iacullo. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, brothers, Bob & Bill, her brother-in-law’s, Tony Esposito and Peter Schintgen and her sister-in-law, Joan Iacullo.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until Mass is celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17th at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. The family requests no flowers.
