Obituary

Matthias Pfundt, 87 of Sun City, Huntley, formerly of Morton Grove, passed away at his home on Monday, December 21, 2015 following a lengthy illness.

He was born October 13, 1928 in Hungary, the son of Andreas and Katharina (Proch) Pfundt. In 1956 he moved to the United States and made his home in Chicago. He was a tool and die maker and was employed for many years with West Company. On June 6, 1964 he was united in marriage to Brigitta E. Lemke. The couple made their home in Chicago for a time and then Morton Grove. In the late 1990’s he retired from Weiler Engineering in Elk Grove Village. In 2012 they moved to Sun City, Huntley and Matthias enjoyed working with his tools and being the handyman around the house.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bridgett of Huntley, his sons, Andre Pfundt of Lake In The Hills and Brian Pfundt of Las Vegas, his brothers, Andreas Pfundt and Paul (Roberta) Pfundt both of Canada. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Adalbert.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. and the family will greet friends after 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, 10805 Main Street, Huntley. Our deepest condolences go to Brigitte and the family of Matthias. It is hard to accept the loss of a loved one but time and God will help to overcome this sad occurance. You still have the privilege of the happy memories left behind by a loving husband, father and brother. Rest in peace Matthias.
