Warren L. Sobczyk, 77, of Sun City, Huntley, passed away at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born July 15, 1938 in Chicago, the son of Frank and Gertrude (Zielewski) Sobczyk. He grew up in Chicago and graduated from Lane Tech High School. He enlisted and served in the United States Army. On May 27, 1961, he was united in marriage to Karen Synoracki. The couple made their home in Arlington Heights and Warren worked for the Castle Company and later Steris Corporation. After his first wife’s death in 1993, Warren met Connie E. Russelle and they were wed on September 2, 1995 in Prospect Heights. In 2012 they moved to Huntley. Warren was an avid hunter; he enjoyed dancing, singing in the church choir, travel, family and friends. He was active in the All Saints Polish National Catholic Cathedral Parish all his life.
He is survived by his wife Connie of Huntley, his children, Janet Ahonen of Hollywood, Florida, Jeffrey (Brenda) Sobczyk of Buford, Georgia, Jennifer (Richard) Kulczak of Lake In The Hills, his step-son, Robert Miceli of Fort Collins, Colorado, his step-daughter, Christina Miceli of Rockford, his grandchildren, Alex, Andy, Dylan, Michael, Karen, Carlie, Noah & Adara. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Karen.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 3rd at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Visitation will also be held Monday, January 4th at All Saints Cathedral Parish National Catholic Church, 9201 West Higgins Road, Chicago from 9:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. prior to the Funeral Mass.

He was a great friend and always looked forward to visit with him, whether in Florida recently, or the many church functions or parties over the years. He will be missed by many. Our condolences to Warrens family. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this sad time. I first met Warren in 1973 when I joined the Chicago Circle Choir, and we were friends for a long time. He will be missed by all who knew him.
