Stephen E. Eldridge, 79 of Huntley, died peacefully January 4, 2016 at his home with his family by his side.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8pm at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home -10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00am on Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
Steve was born August 30, 1936 in Jefferson, Iowa the son of Lloyd and Margaret Eldridge. He married Beverly Ann Baro on September 7, 1958. He worked as a funeral director and later worked for the American Sterilizer Co. retiring as a division vice president. Following his retirement Steve and Beverly owned and operated a printing business for 9 years. In 1999 the couple moved to Sun City, Huntley where Steve served as head usher for 12 years at St. Mary Church and was a member of the Italian-American Club and served as membership chairman for four years.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly, his four sons, Craig (Katy) Eldridge, Kevin (Yvonne Yao) Eldridge, Tim Eldridge and Jeff Eldridge. He is survived by his 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, by his brother Sam Eldridge and by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and by his twin sister, Julia.
