Obituary

Mark E. Baltzersen, 48, of Algonquin, died suddenly January 18, 2016.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 to 7:00pm with a service at 7pm both at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Algonquin Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry- PO Box 7866, Lake in the Hills, IL 60156.
Mark was born February 27, 1967 in Evanston, IL the son of Arnold and Gloria Baltzersen. On August 1, 1992 he married Tricia Darow,his high school sweetheart. He was a coach and volunteer for many years as his children played baseball and softball with AAYO. He was a member of the Algonquin Lions and was a dedicated volunteer at the Algonquin Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry. He was an avid outdoorsman and generous friend. Mark was a jack of all trades, quick to lend a helping hand. He loved to live life to the fullest always taking on new adventures and challenges. His fun-loving spirit will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Tricia Baltzersen, his children, A.J. and Alyssa. He is survived by his mother, Gloria Wunderlich, his sister, Laura (Glenn) Taylor and by his step brother, Rich (Debi) Wunderlich, step sister, Laura Altergott. Mark is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Jerry and Pat Darow, his sister-in-law, Beth (Bill) Rentner,brother-in-law, Mark (Heidi) Darow and by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Arnold and by his step father Dick Wunderlich.

Mark was a great guy, family man, friend and always one willing to give a hand to many an organization within his community. His life was shortened too soon and he will be sorely missed.

Mark was a fun-loving friend, father and husband. We always enjoyed the times we spent together and are extremely saddened by his death. He always loved trash-talking Chevy vs. Ford and had quite the stories to tell. We will miss you!
