Obituary

Peter M. Saiger, 74 of Sun City, Huntley, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Journeycare in Woodstock.

He was born September 29, 1941 in Chicago, the son of Peter G. and Grace (Reris) Saiger. He was raised and educated in Chicago, graduating from Taft High School in 1959. He was united in marriage to Beverly J. Banner in 1966 and the couple made their home in Morton Grove. Peter worked as a sales representative for Sergeant-Welch Company for 38 years, retiring in 1997. Following his wife’s death, Peter became friends with Sharon Leibach and they have had many wonderful years together, living in Morton Grove, Des Plaines and in 2006 the couple moved to Huntley. He loved riding his Harley Davidson, enjoyed golf, swimming, racquetball and visiting his grandchildren in Florida.

He is survived by his son Pete (Jenny) Saiger, his granddaughters, Anna & Christina, his life partner, Sharon Leibach and her children, James Leibach and Lorie (Mike) Skonieczny and her grandchildren, Mark & Matthew, his brother, George (Connie) Saiger, his sisters, Ruth (Tom) Nagy and Betty (Karl) Baird. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Beverly.

A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Operation North Pole.

Our friend will be dearly missed - so thankful we have wonderful special memories.....trip to Italy, our group birthday dinners, and of course golf. Heaven could not wait any longer - he is at peace now.
