Douglas B. Fanuelsen, 73 of Huntley, passed away on Friday evening, January 29, 2016 at Journeycare Hospice in Woodstock following a lengthy illness.
He was born March 4, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Sigurd and Elinor (Martins) Fanuelsen. He enlisted and served in the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage to Dolores L. Deutsch on December 28, 1968. The couple made their home in Chicago and later Des Plaines before moving to Huntley. He had worked as a driver for UPS for many years, retiring in the early 2000’s.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Dolores, his daughter, Deanna (Gene) Highley all of Huntley, his grandchildren, Jake and Tessa, and his sisters, Kathy (Currie) Clement of Tucson, Arizona and Karen Vogt of Puryear, Tennesse.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3rd with a Funeral Service at 7:30 p.m. all at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be on Thursday at Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst.
