Obituary

Elmer Monson, 89, most recently of Huntley, IL, formerly of Green Valley, AZ and DeKalb, IL, died on Monday, February 13.? He was the loving husband of Alice Monson, loving father of Mark (Mary) and Paul (Joy Fulton), cherished grandfather of William and Matthew.
Elmer was the last of ten children of his beloved parents, Ephriam and Mollie, and he was preceded in death by his grandson, Andrew.
Elmer grew up in Irwin, Iowa and attended Irwin High School.? He was a radio operator on a B-29 in the Pacific during WWII.? After graduating from Iowa State University, he worked his entire career at DeKalb Ag. Research.? He was a member of Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huntley, IL.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, 10802 Main Street, Huntley, IL.? The family will greet friends from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the Church.? In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Shepherd of the Prairie Church.
