Wesley Alan Davis Sr., 70 formerly of Goshen, Indiana, and Winsted, Connecticut, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at home. He had been ill for almost 3 years.
He was born on Nov. 14, 1945, to Thomas and Olive (Clauss) Davis in Winsted. He married Frances L. Hrobak on Dec. 10, 1966, in Winsted. She survives with two daughters Stephanie (Thomas) Sibal of Goshen, and Nicole (Rick) Lewis of Lexington, Kentucky; a son, Wesley Jr. (Rita), also of Pingree Grove; five grandsons, Steven and Alexander of Goshen, Tyler and Zachary of Lexington, and Wesley III, also of Pingree Grove; two granddaughters, Emily of Lexington and Megan of Pingree Grove; a sister, Linda (Jack) Maley of Clearwater, Florida; a sister-in-law, Marlene Davis, also of Clearwater; and a brother, Thomas (Nancy) Davis of Winsted. A brother, James Davis, is deceased.
Wes graduated from Gilbert High School in Winsted in 1963. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1964-1969. Wes graduated from the McClean School of Nursing (Belmont, Massachusetts) in 1966. He received his bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s College, North Windham, Maine, in 1973 and earned his master’s degree in hospital administration from Rensselaer at Hartford, Hartford, Connecticut in 1978.
Wes worked at Winsted, Torrington (Connecticut), and Cortland (New York) hospitals before moving to Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart, Indiana, from 1983 until he retired in 2005 as executive vice president. Wes and Fran moved to Pingree Grove in 2008. He enjoyed reading, classical music and travel, especially cruises.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 20th at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 845 W. Main St., West Dundee, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rainbow Hospice, 799 S. McLean Boulevard, Elgin, Illinois 60123 or Food for the Poor, www.foodforthepoor.org.

Wes was a great man a great friend and an even better husband and Father, someone you wanted to emulate your life after, he touched so many folks, he did so much for me personally, its a huge loss and a very sad day. Sorry to hear but well all remember the great times we had working and laughing together. He was is an awesome man, friend and confidant. I feel I am a better person because I knew Wes. Well all miss him.

Fran sorry to hear Wes has died thoughts and prayers are with and family. He was a lot of fun to be with in EGH board meeting he and Jim Pettie made it worth going God must needed someone for Jim to talk with. He was well liked at the hospital. He will be missed.
