James Frederick Swift “(Swifty”) passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 after a long illness at the age of 74. Jim was born in Rockford, Illinois to Virginia Jane Boldock Swift and Gale Swift. He is survived by his mother, Virginia, his wife Marlene, son, Richard (Wendy), daughter Catherine McKenna (James), step-daughter, Julie Koerner, grandchildren, Nathan, Abby, Sammy and Piper, brother, Roger Swift (Caye), from Frisco, CO., cousins, Ila Barton, Jerry Boldock (Brenda) and Sandy Masterson (Chuck) and Paul Muehlemeyer (Joanne) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim retired from the US Navy. He also retired from United Airlines where he worked as a ramp serviceman for 31 years.
He loved spending time with his friends on the golf course and bowling and meeting fellow retirees at Maxfields and Riverview. You never saw him without a paperback book in his back pocket and a bottle of water.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 10:30am until the time of the memorial service which will be at 12:30 all at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.

Jim loved life and lived it to the fullest right to the end. He wanted his grand children with him at Christmas and to go to Florida one more time. And Marlene, as always was at his side He is in our prayers; as is Marlene and all the family. Until we meet again May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
Our condolences to the family of Jim, working with him at United Airlines was always fun and enlightening. Never knew what he was planning on a day to day basis. Fun guy to work with. May he rest in peace.
