August Verhaeghe 92, of Huntley, died peacefully, March 20, 2016 at Journeycare Hospice in Woodstock, Illinois.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8:00pm with a service at 7:00pm all at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Cary Grove Adventist Fellowship Church.
August was born October 12, 1923 the son of Rene A. and Julia (Pollentier) Verhaeghe. In 1942 he married Clarice Reining. He worked as a farmer most of his life and later in real estate.
He is survived by his children, Bonnie Roper, Dale (Alyce) Verhaeghe, and Sherri Bakley, by his grandchildren: Brian, Jodie, Chadd, Summer, Chandra, Kali, Melissa and Amanda and by 14 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Clarice his son, Daron, and later by his second wife, Catherine Kelly, he is also preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Julian, Henry, Julius, and Bertha. He is also preceded by his great grandson, Heston.
