Lynne B. Brod (nee Haskin), 69 of Huntley, Illinois, formerly of Volga, South Dakota passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 in Elgin, Illinois following a short illness.
She was born January 22, 1947 in Chicago, the daughter of William and Florence (Fehniger) Haskin. She graduated from Taft High School in 1965. On June 3, 1972, she was united in marriage to Paul J. Brod. The couple made their home in Wheeling & Fox River Grove, Illinois before moving to Volga, South Dakota where they raised their family. Lynne worked at Advance in Brookings. In 1998 they moved to Merritt Island, Florida where she worked in the insurance business. Following retirement they moved to Huntley, Illinois in 2013 to be near family. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading and her cats and had a special enjoyment for Civil War history.
She is survived by her husband, Paul of Huntley, her daughters, Heather Brod and her husband, Kevin Gingras of Columbus, Ohio and Valerie Brod and her husband, David Boddy of Chicago, her grandson, Logan Boddy and her sister, Cathy (Tony) Pocewicz of Carpentersville. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26th and the family will welcome friends starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be at a later date in the Montrose Cemetery, Chicago. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Lustgarten Foundation to support pancreatic cancer research online at www.lustgarten.org/donate.
