Helena T. Rozner, 76 of Lake in the Hills, died peacefully, April 1, 2016 at home after a long period of illness.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 2:00-4:00pm with a service at 4pm all at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home -10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Helena was born April 3, 1939 in Ludow, Poland and immigrated to America August 30, 1963. On September 1, 1966 she married Julian J. Rozner. On February 17, 1999, Helena became a US Citizen, which other than the birth of her children, she said, “was one of her proudest days.”
Helena’s life started with difficulty, growing up in a war torn Poland, she met many tough struggles. However, Helena always lived her life to the fullest and maintained her grace, gentle spirit and goodness till the ends. Helena never let adversity get her down. Her favorite saying was “It doesn’t cost anything to smile or be polite.” She was devoted to her family, the Chicago Blackhawks, her Polish crystal, her flowers and garden.
She is survived by her husband, Julian, her children, Jerry Rozner, Krystyna Rozner-Kamka, and Bonnie Rozner-Gabriel; by her step daughter, Yvonne Rozner- Schumert; by her grandchildren, Brandon, Devon, Cassandra, Cameron, Jacob, and Ethan; by her step-grandchildren, Rachel and Valerie, and by her step-great granddaughter, Madelynn. She is also survived by her brother, Teddy Ziembicka.
