Obituary

Robert Pier Dominici, 93, of Chicago and formerly of Safety Harbor, Florida, passed away on Sunday evening, April 17, 2016 in Woodstock.

He was born October 11, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Leo and Florence (Colacicco) Pier Dominici. Following school he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country, he loved being in the Navy. Following his discharge he returned to Chicago and went to work with his father who owned Florence Macaroni. He later took over the business and renamed the company, Flora Macaroni. He retired in 1978 and moved to Florida where he has lived until recently. He enjoyed shuffle board, bowling, reading and loved to bake, cookies were his specialty.

He is survived by his sisters, Mary (Harry) Kullmann and Lorraine Pappalardo both of Huntley, Lydia (Emil) Cangiano of Mt. Prospect, his brother, Roy (Rosetta) Pier Dominici of Elgin and many nieces and nephews & Great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Agatha and his brother, Jerry.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21st at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22nd and the family will greet friends after 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, River Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or St. Jude’s.
