Obituary

Diane Julianne Faubl (née Tartol) l was born on Oct. 7, 1943 to Stephen and Josephine (Labno) Tartol. She was the granddaughter of Joseph and Anna (Hanek) Labno and Anton and Julia (Bielik) Trtol. She was the sister of the late Daniel and Stephen and Anne (Kowal) Tartol. She was the wife of Hermann Faubl. She was a niece, aunt, cousin and friend to many.
She graduated from Sacred Heart School, Holy Family Academy, Chicago Teachers College North and Northeastern University.
She was the "Teacher of Top Tots" at Victor Herbert School in Chicago, where she taught for 35 years.
She was the founder of "OLV for Me", a program of religious instruction for small children, at Our Lady of Victory Church in Chicago.
Throughout her years she was a member of the Chicago Teachers Union where she served as school delegate, representative, distinct supervisor and elementary vice president, AAUW, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, Starlite Stitchery Guild, the NSCAE, ANG, EGA, Polish American Club of Sun City, Polish Genealogical Society for which she was financial secretary and membership chairman, Polish Women's Civic Club, Polish Arts Club, head of the Sun City Election Committee, St. Mary Senior Club, St. Mary Women's Club, and the Red Hatters.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8pm at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00am on Thursday with visitation at Church from 9:00 until the funeral Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery.
She loved opera and live theater. She was much traveled. As a teacher she wore bright colors, floral prints and polka dots. It is her wish that those attending her funeral consider that fact when selecting their attire!
