Mary Rita “Marita” Komp, nee Owens, age 75, of Huntley and Park Forest, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016.
She was the loving mother of Jimmy Komp, John (Mary) Komp, Cindy Milazzo and Suzy (John) Luisi; dear sister of Raymond (Eileen) Owens, dear sister-in-law of Kathleen Owens (Don Zamborsky); cherished grandmother of Nicholas Komp, Cecilia Komp, Amanda Komp, Gianna Milazzo, Dominic Milazzo, and Vincent Luisi; loving Aunt to Kathy (Bill) Sherlock, Raymond (Kelly) Owens, Brian (Amy) Owens, Mark (Jiyeon) Owens, Matt (Julie) Owens and Luke Owens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore “Ted” Komp, parents Raymond and Mary, nee McCabe, Owens, daughter-in-law of Rudolph and Celia, nee Martini, Komp and fond sister of Alan Owens and Kevin Owens. Marita attended DePaul University. She retired after 30 years as a Health Assistant from District 163 in Park Forest and was the President of Neighborhood 23 in Del Webb, Huntley.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 30th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley and at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley on Friday, July 1st from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, The American Cancer Society or the Susan G. Komen Foundation. I am so sorry to read of Marita's passing. We worked together at Forest Trail Jr. High and Blackhawk Schools in Park Forest. Marita was a dear friend. We had so many good times when we worked and got together. She was dearly missed when she moved to Huntley. May she rest in peace. My condolences to her family.

I am so sorry to hear of Marita's passing. We worked together in Park Forest for many years. She was a good friend and kept me smiling. she will be missed. My prayers go out to her friends and family.
