Obituary

Irene M. Novotney, 83 of Sun City, Huntley, Illinois passed away at her home on Saturday, October 22, 2016 after losing her battle with cancer.

She was born June 4, 1933 in Chicago, the daughter of Stanley and Angela Piekarczyk Gall. She was raised in Cicero and graduated from Morton East High School. She made her home in Cicero for a number of years and on June 18, 1966 was united in marriage to Donald E. Novotney. The couple made their home in Lake Zurich, Illinois where they raised their family. She moved to Huntley in 2002. Irene enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and time outdoors. She especially cherished the time she spent with her family and her grandchildren.

Her life revolved around her family. She is survived by her children, Susan (George) Myers of Mount Morris, Illinois, Donald (Nancy) Novotney of Boyceville, Wisconsin, Michael Corrigan of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Deanna Campioni of Huntley, Illinois and Daniel (Keirsa) Novotney of Appleton, Wisconsin, her grandchildren, Nicki, D.J., Crystal, Danny, Amanda, Jill, Carly, Ben & Maddie, thirteen Great-Grandchildren, her sisters, Virginia (Joseph) Matheu of Palos Park, Illinois and Joan Dec of Darien, Illinois as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley IL. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday and the family will greet friends after 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley IL. Burial will be in Crystal Lake Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
