Barbara H. Skeppstrom, 67 of Huntley, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at her home surrounded by family following a lengthy illness.
Born November 18, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Curtis and Bernice (Anderson) Krause. She grew up in Logan Square and later moved with her family to Des Plaines, Illinois. She met her future husband, Craig Skeppstrom while attending Maine West High School and they were married for almost 45 years. She was involved in numerous activities in the Episcopal Church including Marriage Encounter and Cursillo. She enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, music, cooking and activities within the Del Webb community. She especially loved her grandchildren and being present at their various events.
Barbara is survived by her husband, her daughter, Susan (Joseph) O’Grady of Wheeling, Illinois, her son, James (Haley) Skeppstrom of Lake Bluff, Illinois, her grandchildren, Andrew & Jonathan O’Grady and Hannah Skeppstrom.
A memorial service is planned for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 28th, 2012 at One in Christ Episcopal Church 307 W. Hintz Road, Prospect Heights, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
