Thomas J. McCoy, 86 of Hoffman Estates, died peacefully, November 30, 2016 with his family by his side.
Visitation Sunday, from 3-7:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home 1640 S. Green Meadows Blvd. Streamwood, IL. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00am on Monday at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Schaumburg with burial at St. Michael Cemetery in Palatine. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed for Masses for Thomas McCoy or to Marytown 1600 W Park Ave, Libertyville, IL 60048.
Thomas was born June 29, 1930 in Cincinnati, OH the son of Vincent and Hilda McCoy. On August 22, 1953, he married Elsie Wilhelm. Tom worked in the insurance industry, most of his career as a claims manager, retiring as a Claims Attorney. He was a Knight of Columbus and he and Elsie were founding members of the New Jerusalem Prayer group. Tom was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Elsie, his five children, Patrick (Teresa) McCoy, Timothy (Karen) McCoy, Dennis (Ana) McCoy, Terrence (Karen) McCoy and Mollie (Thomas) Burleson, he is survived by his 11 grandchildren, Sean(Laura), Daniel(Daniella), Megan (Antonio), Alex, Kyle, Erin, Kimberly, Elijah, Gideon, Aiden and Evan. He is also survived by his sister, Margery Sowell and by many nieces and nephews. Tom is preceded in death by his brother, Robert (Irene) McCoy, by his grandchildren, Abigaele Burleson and Jordan McCoy, and by his brother-in-law, Ray Sowell.

Elsie and Pat and Mollie...we are deeply saddened at the news of Toms passing. You are so privileged to have this giant of a Christian man in your lives for so many years.
