Huntley- Pierce Alan Cordle, 22, of Huntley, IL, passed away on Thursday December 8, 2016 in Peoria, IL.
Pierce was born in Peoria, IL on June 21, 1994, beloved son of Jeffrey J. Cordle and Kristi A. (Musal) Cordle.
In addition to his parents, Pierce is survived by his loving sister, Paige E. Cordle and her significant other Nick Anderson of Johnston, IA. He is survived by his grandparents, Alan and Carol Musal of Princeton, IA, Wayne and Joan Cordle of Manly, IA, and great grandmother Jeanette Claussen of Bettendorf, IA. Pierce is also survived by aunts, uncles, and their families: Brad Musal, Mark (Leanne) Musal, Shelli (Darin) Engelbrecht, Dan Cordle, Joe (Carolyn) Cordle, Mark Hendrickson, Dave (Brenda) Cordle, Shelly (Mark) Tuttle, Pat (Doreen) Cordle, and Rod Cordle. Along with his family, Pierce is survived by cherished friends Rick Zehr, Jenny Clyatt, and Jessica (Jay) Bulaclac, Logan and Gavin.
Pierce was greeted in heaven by his dear aunt Cindy (Cordle) Hendrickson.
Pierce attended Marquette University where he graduated magna cum laude majoring in Biomedical Science in May 2016 and planned to attend medical school next year. He worked as an Emergency Department Scribe at UnityPoint Hospitals in Peoria.
Pierce was known for his passion for the trumpet at which he excelled. His love for music started as part of the Huntley High School Band. He continued into college where he treasured performing as part of the Marquette University Band Program. While there he was the recipient of the Nicholas J. Contorno Award for Outstanding Musicianship and the Student Commitment to Excellence Award.
Pierce loved purple, Mountain Dew, playing Xbox, and was a superfan of the Minnesota Vikings. His tremendous quick wit brought laughter to all. He truly brightened the lives of those around him, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm – 8:00pm on Thursday, December 15th at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, December 16th at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Mark Boster will officiate. A private burial will be held in Princeton, IA.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Pierce’s love of music, the family requests memorial contributions be made in his honor to the Marquette University Band Program using “Music Performing Groups and Special Events Fund, ID#2338” in the memo field. I know Pierces maternal family, the Musals, who are members of my hometown church, Zion Lutheran Church in Princeton his uncles have been responsible for farming my mothers farm the past 14 years. Its been 2 weeks and Pierce is my last thought at night and my first as I awake. I cant even imagine what you are going thru.
