Obituary

Patricia Ann Galen, 72, of Huntley, formerly of Hanover Park, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, in the presence of her loving family.

She was born May 26, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Orville C. and Ann C. (Marovich) Ottow. She grew up in Niles and graduated from Maine East High School. She attended Northern Illinois University where she met her husband, David D. Galen. They were married on May 1, 1965, in Niles. The couple started their family in Chicago and in 1971 moved to Rolling Meadows where they bought their first home. In 1976, they moved to Hanover Park where they raised their family. In 2012, they retired to Del Webb in Huntley. Patricia was devoted to her family, she loved unconditionally and touched many peoples’ lives. She enjoyed cooking, reading and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, David of Huntley, her son, David C. (Sharon) Galen of Belvidere, her daughter, Lisa (Mark) Feltman of Lake in the Hills, her grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary & Joshua, her step-grandchildren, Patrick and Angela and her step great-grandson, Landyn, her brothers, Daniel (Darya) Ottow of Schaumburg and David (Sue) Ottow of Niles, also her nephew, Jeffrey, her niece, Kristy and her great-niece, Shannon.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. and the family will greet friends after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20th at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Patricia A. Galen Memorial Fund. I remember when Pat first started dating my brother. She seemed like the right girl right from the start. And she was. She couldnt have been better. She was loved and will be so, so missed.
