Obituary

Sandra C. Sampson, 77 of Algonquin, passed away at her daughter’s home on Wednesday evening, December 28, 2016.

She was born October 7, 1939 in Chicago, the daughter of Arthur W. and Ebba (Peterson) Lindahl. She graduated from Arlington Heights High School, class of 1957 and later Robert Morris Academy. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert W. Sampson on January 31, 1960. The couple made their home in Arlington Heights. Sandra worked for UOP with other family for many years prior to raising her family and later worked as an administrative assistant for Arthur Andersen. In 1981 they moved to Wayne, Illinois. Robert passed away in 1989. In 1997 Sandra met Gerhard Landrowski and the couple made their home in Algonquin. They have been devoted to one another for many years. She was a member of the Boulder Ridge Country Club, book club and mahjongg group. Family and friends were of great importance to Sandra

She is survived by her children, Robert W. (Constance) Sampson, Jr., of Itasca, Deborah L. (Greg) Cazel of Lake in the Hills, Peter C. (Susan) Sampson of Itasca and Michael A. (Elizabeth) Sampson of Streamwood, her grandchildren Ken (Jennifer), Jennifer (Chris), Maggie, Chris, Amanda, Alison, Ben, John, Anna, Bob, Jack, Justin, Jessica and Tyler, her great-granddaughters, Eleanor & Amelia, her nephews and niece, Christopher (Julie), William (Cassie) and Catherine Lindahl, her partner, Gerhard Landrowski of Algonquin and his children, Mark (Traci) Landrowski and their children, Drew & Anya and Erik (Nicole) Landrowski and their children, Ty, Kyra & Kylie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her brother, William.

A memorial gathering will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2017 with a Service of Remembrance at 7:00 p.m. at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
