Obituary

Dr. Ivan “John” Dimitroff, 95 of Huntley, died peacefully, December 30, 2016
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 to 8:00pm at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00am on Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Entombment will be private.
Ivan was born August 5, 1921 in Kapatovo, Bulgaria. He married Dorothy Krueger on September 21, 1957. He was a practicing physician until his retirement, at the age of 75 and over the years served on the staff of St. Joseph, Holy Family and Alexician Brothers Hospitals. John also worked for the FAA as an examiner working in industrial medicine. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Dorothy, his loving children, Michael (Carol) Dimitroff and Mary Kay (Michel) Gontarek and proud grandfather of Jennifer, Jessica, Daniel and William. And also was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers and sisters.
