Obituary

Ezequiel Garcia, 11, Ariana Garcia, 8, and Carla M. Lopez-Mejia, 27, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at their home in Lake In The Hills.

Ezequiel Garcia was born June 26, 2005 and Ariana Garcia was born June 20, 2008 both in Elgin to Luis O. and Carla M. (Lopez-Mejia) Garcia. Ezequiel was a sixth grader at Marlow Middle School and Ariana was a third grade student at Martin Elementary School. The children loved spending time together and with family and friends, riding their bikes and playing with their dogs.

Carla was born March 6, 1989 in Mexico, the daughter of Carlos and Edda (Mejia) Lopez. She was married to Luis Garcia on August 7, 2009 in Woodstock and had worked in customer service for Chase Banks.

Ezequiel and Ariana are survived by their father, Luis of Huntley, their grandmothers, Edda Mejia of Elgin, Laura Garcia of Huntley, their grandfather, Luis Garcia of Northlake and their uncles, Adam Garcia of Huntley and Ernesto Lopez of Elgin.
Carla is survived by her husband, Luis Garcia of Huntley, her mother, Edda Mejia of Elgin and her brother, Ernesto Lopez of Elgin.

Visitation will be from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18th at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Garcia family.
