Joseph A. Vedrine, 82 of Huntley passed away on Sunday morning, April 22, 2012 in Woodstock.? He was born December 25, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Joseph and Regina (Gafkee) Vedrine.? He was raised and educated in Chicago and then enlisted in the United States Army.? He was united in marriage to Dolores H. Bouchard on April 15, 1950.? The couple made their home in Park Ridge where he worked as a mechanic before taking a position as a broker with Prudential Insurance Company where he worked for over 30 years, retiring in 1991.? The couple later lived in Mount Prospect and in 2004 moved to Huntley.? Following retirement Joseph worked as a courier for the Daily Herald.? He loved to tinker and was very good with his hands spending time in his garage and fixing any and all things around the home.? He enjoyed fishing, gardening and especially enjoyed time with his family.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Dolores of Huntley, his children, Cheryl (Patrick) Makris of Hinsdale, Jolienne (Thomas) Aiello of Palatine, Lynette (Stephen Durlacher) Vedrine of Fox River Grove, Kevin (Sandy) Vedrine of Bartlett, thirteen grandchildren; Breanne, Eric, Michael Makris, Tanner, Heather (Matt), Mallory(Brad), Alyssa, Tayler, Colin, Luke, Lauren, Michael Vedrine & Libby, two-great-granddaughters, Emma & Kayla, numerous nieces and nephews and his sister-in-law, Margaret Vedrine.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 27th at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.? In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association.?

Lynette, I remember your Dads smile and the life and energy that he had. Im sorry for the loss of him to you and your entire family. I know the past couple years were difficult. I wish you peace and fond memories.
