Flora I. Beltz, 85 of Huntley died on May 7 peacefully at Apostolic Christian Resthaven in Elgin.
A visitation will be Friday, May 11, 5:30 – 8:30pm at DeFiore - Jorgensen Funeral Home, 10763 DundeeRd, Huntley.Burial will be at 9:00am Saturday, May 12, at Plato Center Cemetery, Muirhead and Russell Rd.A memorial service will be 11:00am, Saturday, May 12, at First Congregational Church, 11628 N. Church Street, Huntley.Memorials may be directed to Apostolic Christian Resthaven, Elgin, IL.
Flora was born June 25, 1926 in Richmond, Illinois, the daughter of Ira and Minnie (Carter) Stuart.She was born at home on the family farm and attended a one room school. She and her first husband, Harry Lever, farmed and raised their children in Algonquin for many years.“Flo” attended Ellis Business College in Elgin and was employed with John Hancock Insurance Company in Elgin and Geneva for 24 years, retiring in 1981.She was also employed with Sherman Hospital in the admitting department for many years.After “retiring”, she worked for 17 years at the Marathon Station at Main Street and Route 47 in Huntley.Flo loved dancing and was known for her enjoyment of line dancing.She was a people person who enjoyed life. Her faith in God was important to her, and her friendly greeting at First Congregational Church in Huntley was well known.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Dale) Huffstutler of Ft. Atkinson, WI, Lory (David) Schrieber of Bradenton, FL, Lee (Terri) Lever of Austin, TX, and Holly (Jeff) Lawyer of East Dundee, IL.She is also survived by her sisters, Eva Brown (Melvin, d.) of South Elgin and Virginia “Pat” (Walter) Houston of Richland Center, WI, 10 grandchildren, and 13 great- grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Beltz, her brother Nelson Stuart (Flo), and three sisters, Dorothy (Harry) Miller of Princeton, WI, Leona (Claude) Barry of Richland Center, and Arlene (Charlie) Butt of Virgil. Also preceding her in death were nephews, Joe Miller, Jerry and Ken Butt, and Larry Ackmann.
