Barbara (nee Poston) Allen, 83 of Sun City, Huntley, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington.
She was born March 12, 1934 in Columbus, Wisconsin the daughter of Gayle and Pearl (Clark) Poston. She graduated from East Leyden High School. Barbara was united in marriage to Robert C. Allen on June 18, 1955 in Franklin Park. The couple made their Franklin Park and Arlington Heights where they raised their family. She later worked for United Airlines as a flight attendant instructor for a number of years, retiring in 1990. She enjoyed doing crafts, loved golf and traveling. Special thanks to JourneyCare Hospice for all their care during her illness.
She is survived by her husband, Bob of Huntley, her sons, Jeffrey of Rolla, Missouri and Jay (Roma) Allen of Carol Stream, her grandchildren, Mary, John, Heather, Autumn, Charity, Jeffrey, Gabriella, Jason, Courtney, Kelly and Carly, nine great-grandchildren and her sister, Bonnie (Fred) Kaiser of Orange County, California. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Dawn.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 2nd with a Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 3rd at the Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 900 N. Wolf Road, North Lake, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fellowship Life Bible Church or JourneyCare Foundation.
